Countries that rely on Tourism for economic growth are set to be some of the most affected in the near future. Among them is Cabo Verde, Sao Tome e Principe and, to a lesser extent, Timor-Leste, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The Beijing-Lisbon flight by Beijing Capital Airlines (BCA), had support from the Portuguese and Chinese governments, but lasted a little over a year, until October 2018, due to BCA's parent companies financial difficulties. Despite turmoil in the aviation industry, it is now set to resume.

China moved closer to Argentina and Brazil at the eighth edition of the Global Tourism and Economy Forum in Macao. The South American nations were the forum’s partner countries this year and they made gestures that could attract Chinese tourists their way in the years to come.
