China and Angola have set an example for South-South cooperation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday during talks with his Angolan counterpart Téte António in Beijing.
The Chinese side is ready to strengthen multilateral cooperation with Angola, promote the mechanism building of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, build a closer China-Africa community with a shared future and jointly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries to promote the development of the international order in a more just and rational direction, said Wang.
China-Angola relations have maintained a strong momentum of development, and their practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples and helping boost Angola’s development, said Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
He called on both sides to work for an even higher-level and deeper relationship.
China is ready to share its experience in Chinese modernization and the opportunities brought by the size of its market, and expand cooperation in infrastructure, digital economy, clean energy, health and medical care, and food security, among others, added Wang.
For his part, António said Angola-China cooperation is mutually beneficial and for win-win outcomes, and major projects continuously and successfully implemented have promoted the friendship between the two countries. Angola and China are both “sincere friends” and strategic partners, he said.
The Central African country is ready to continue close communication and cooperation with China, promote the building of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, jointly safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core, and build a new type of international relations, he added.
António is on a four-day official visit to China that started on Tuesday.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Angola.
