Ningxia Eppen Aiming to Invest USD 600 Million in Amino Acids Production in Brazil

 

Chinese biotech Ningxia Eppen is aiming to invest USD 600 million in Amino Acids Production in Brazil, according to the Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (ApexBrasil).

A delegation from Ningxia Eppe, the global leader in the amino acid industry, was welcomed recently by Mato Grosso Vice Governor Otaviano Pivetta and the Secretary of State for Economic Development, César Miranda.

According to ApexBrasil, quoted by the local press, the group is considering an investment of about USD 600 million to produce amino acid through the processing of corn in Brazil.

China, Brazil Trade in Local Currencies for First Time

The project aims an annual production of about 350 thousand tons of various amino acids, by-products of about 200 thousand tonnes, generating about a thousand jobs. The Chinese group highlighted the economic potential of Mato Grosso in the generation of corn.

The Chinese also evaluated the forms of logistics for export, closer energy sources such as biomass, natural gas, renewable energy, in addition to access to water.

“Brazil, especially Mato Grosso, has the greatest potential to receive our company because it has an abundance of the main raw material, corn. This is equivalent to about 80% of the cost for the generation of the production of amino acids,” said Steven Bao, sales manager for the Americas region of the Chinese company.

China Fuels Record Brazilian Agricultural Exports

The company plans to expand abroad and evaluates whether the investments will be made in Russia or Brazil.

“Mato Grosso is the country’s largest producer of corn and also of corn ethanol, this has aroused the interest of Ningxia Eppen executives to visit the state and evaluate the best places for installation of the industry, which is close to corn production,” explained secretary César Miranda.

Deputy Governor Otaviano Pivetta highlighted that Mato Grosso has an interest in receiving the industry, considering the high production of maize of the state, and stressed that the arrival in the new company helps in the development of the municipalities.

Ningxia Eppen Eppen Biotech Co., Ltd was founded in 1999, its products fall into 3 divisions: animal nutrition, food additives and spices, plant nutrition and fertilizers. In the animal nutrition division, the main products are food additives such as lysine, treonin, tryptophan and valine. In the food division, the main products are monosodium glutamate, chicken essence, composite spices. In the plant nutrition division, the main products are organic fertilizers, composite fertilizer, soil conditioner.

The company exports to more than 50 countries and regions. In recent years, Eppen has built production bases in Chifeng and Daqing to complete the industrial chains to expand the cost advantages and improve competitiveness.

Meanwhile, subsidiaries have been set up in Singapore and Ningxia to improve operational efficiency and optimize customer experience.
