Mozambican Tech Company BCX and Alibaba Partner to Launch Cloud Platform

Mozambican technology company BCX and Chinese company Alibaba launched a cloud processing platform in a partnership to provide several services, including databases.

“In partnership with Alibaba, we are bringing cloud processing capacity (storing, maintaining and accessing data on a network of remote servers via the internet) here to Mozambique,” stated Emílio Jorge, BCX’s general manager in Mozambique.

Users of the technology launched this week no longer need to invest in “dedicated computing capacity”, resorting to outsourcing this type of service, explained Emílio Jorge.

The platform will also provide customers with a software service. Emílio Jorge considered the partnership with Alibaba to be an asset, because the Chinese multinational is highly rated as a “giant in cloud processing”.

Jorge added that BCX, a subsidiary of a South African company of the same name, brings to the partnership the added value of having been operating in Mozambique for around 19 years, supplying state and private entities with digital technology solutions in the areas of municipal tax collection, pharmaceuticals and electronic ticketing.
