China to strengthen “strategic alignment” with Angola in human resource training and youth employment

China will strengthen the “strategic alignment” with Angola for practical bilateral cooperation in human resource training and youth employment, among other areas, according to the Chinese Ambassador to Luanda.

Speaking at the Second International Youth Forum with Embassies in Luanda, Gong (pictured above next to the Angolan President) said about 300 Angolan students are attending Chinese universities, and China has awarded more than 150 scholarships to students in Angola over the past five years.

A batch of Angolan students whose studies were interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic had returned to China to continue with their studies last month, he added.

Gong said that China will strengthen the “strategic alignment” with Angola for practical bilateral cooperation in various areas, including human resource training and youth employment, as well as work with Angola to promote economic diversification and realize the sustainable development goals.

“The Chinese Embassy is always willing to promote interpersonal and cultural exchanges,” the diplomat said, quoted by Xinhua.

Angolan youths represent the future of the two countries’ friendship, added Gong.
