“Astounding” Number of Portuguese Producers at ProWine Shanghai

More than 200 wines from Portugal were exhibited and tasted in this year’s edition of ProWine Shanghai, from an “astounding” number of 33 producers, according to Portugal´s trade agency (Aicep).

As part of his trip to Shanghai, the Ambassador of Portugal in Beijing, Paulo Jorge Nascimento (pictured above), accompanied by the Consul General of Portugal in Shanghai and AICEP Shanghai, visited ProWine on November 8th.

The Portuguese delegation included some of the Portuguese winemakers best-known in China, such as Casa Ermelinda Freitas, João Portugal Ramos, Prats & Symington Family Estates, Caves Messias, Real Companhia Velha  and Quinta da Marmeleira.

Other producers represented were Abegoaria , Vinhos Barbeito, Madeira Wine Company, S.A., Boas Quintas, Caminhos Cruzados, CARMIM, Casa da Fonte Pequena, Casa de Vila Nova, Casa Relvas, Casa Santos Lima, Companhia das Vinhas SA, Falua – Wines from Portugal, Henriques & Henriques, Herdade do Freixo, Herdade do Perdigão e Monte do Pintor,  Wines, Jean – Hugues Gros – Wines, Justino’s Madeira Wines, SA, Manzwine,Pereira D’Oliveira (Vinhos) Lda.Quinta da Calçada, QUINTA DA CERCA, Quinta da Lapa, Quinta da Mariposa, Quinta do Ortigão, Ribafreixo Wines, Rocim, Ségur Estates, Sociedade Agrícola da Sossega (Monte do Pintor), Vidigal Wines and Quinta da Pacheca.

Most of the companies were inserted within the Portuguese Pavilion promoted by ViniPortugal.
