“The project will bring together products from several Portuguese companies in the agrifood sector in a common web page on the Alibaba platform, owned by AICEP, which will have joint commercial and marketing management”, the agency said in a statement.
AICEP will launch the platform this Wednesday in Lisbon, with online transmission. During the presentation, AICEP will also release the results of the “E-Commerce Diagnosis of the Portuguese Agrifood Sector: Potential for the creation of an Aggregator Project”.
“With the support of AICEP and also AMVOS Digital, it will be possible to guarantee a professional management of this website and significantly reduce the financial burden of companies, which will create favorable conditions for a better e-commerce performance”, AICEP adds.
The event has the participation of the Secretary of State for Internationalization, Eurico Brilhante Dias, the President of AICEP, Luís Castro Henriques, and AICEP Board Member, João Dias.
The new study, which will be made available to companies later, contains information on e-commerce in the agrifood sector. AICEP expects online commerce in the food and beverage segment to grow by more than 8% per year until 2024.
