Super Bock, a popular beer brand from Portugal, has emerged as one of the main highlights of the 34th Qingdao International Beer Festival.

Liu Jing, director of Super Bock Beer, said that this is the second time Super Bock beer has participated in the Qingdao International Beer Festival, following last year’s successful presence.

Strong sales during last year’s festival instilled a high level of optimism in Super Bock Beer Group management about the market potential of the Qingdao International Beer Festival, which kicked off this year on Friday at the Golden Beach Beer City in the West Coast New District of Qingdao, Shandong Province in eastern China.

“During the more than 20 days of the beer festival last year, the daily attendance rate was consistently over 70%, with a daily movement of around 600 to 700 people. Based on this positive market reaction, the Portuguese headquarters decided to increase its investment in the Qingdao International Beer Festival this year,” said Liu.

This year, the Portuguese beer brand presented a total of 13 beers, three more than last year, and all imported from Portugal to provide a “pure European flavor”.

Representatives from the Portuguese headquarters made a personal appearance at the beer festival and are very optimistic about China’s consumption potential, currently considering initial preparations to cater to the taste of the Chinese market if they continue to participate in the beer festival next year.

The Qingdao International Beer Festival can attract more than 6 million tourists every year.
