Mota-Engil signs mining contract in Ivory Coast worth USD 600 million

 

Portuguese infrastructure group Mota-Engil, whose second biggest shareholder is China Communication and Construction Corporation (CCCC), has signed a mining contract in Ivory Coast worth USD 600 million.

The contract, signed by Mota´s subsidiary for the African region with Endeavour Mining PLC, comprises the Lafigué project in the north-central part of Ivory Coast approximately 500 km from the capital, Abidjan, within the
northern-end of the Oumé-Fetekro greenstone belt, the company said in a statement.

“The mining services to be carried out by Mota-Engil under the contract includes mine development, pit
dewatering, free digging, drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling of ore and waste”, the company adds.

Mota-Engil, CCCC and CRBC selected for USD 2.5bi tender in Nigeria

The works are scheduled to start in December 2023 and will have a duration of 60 months.

With this award, Mota-Engil “continues reinforcing its backlog adding a new relevant medium and long term
contract”, the statement adds.
