Huawei intends, in partnership with the Government of Angola, to train 2,500 Angolan professionals in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), during 2020. According to Hongzhen Liu, Vice President of Huawei in Angola, the company also aims to certify 300 professional engineers.
Hongzhen Liu told Jornal de Angola that the training is aimed, in particular, at university students attending ICT courses and Government employees working in the same area. The strategy for training ICT talent in Angola, he added, also involves investing in cooperation with 15 colleges and universities in the country.
Huawei, which has been operating in Angola for 20 years, currently offers training and online education with the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), Catholic University of Angola (UCAN), CINFOTEC and ISCP. The number of participants is set to grow from 100 to 240.
According to Hongzhen Liu, there is great demand for ICT in the Media industry, and cooperation aims to include integrating cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence. This technology may provide a collection of live news, video production, distribution of video content and system operation management services to improve business resources and operational efficiency.
