Huawei Cloud to bring to Brazil AI Models Implemented in China

Huawei Cloud wants to bring to Brazil artificial intelligence models already implemented on a large scale in China, like Pangu, which is a business-oriented system using high-performance machine learning.

Huawei Cloud, the company’s technology-oriented business unit, announced its investment strategy in the Brazilian market during the Huawei Cloud Summit 2023, which took place last week in São Paulo, the local press reported.

“One of our goals is to apply China’s success cases in Brazil”, said Duan Bin, Chief Technology (CTO) of Huawei Cloud Brazil.

“We serve 80% of the 50 largest Internet companies in China. We help companies and industries improve their operational efficiency. In China, cloud, artificial intelligence and data are accelerating and deeply affecting the economy and competitiveness of all sectors. And that is the global trend”, he added.

Another system by Huawei Cloud presented at the event in São Paulo is Pangu Weather, with greater accuracy in weather forecasting and predicting weather phenomena quickly.

For example, predicting the trajectory of a typhoon in the next 10 days would take 5 hours. With the Pangu model it is possible to do this in just 10 seconds.

Brazil’s 5G Bid to Raise USD 1.87 billion

Huawei Cloud also developed MetaStudio, which has technology capable of creating realistic digital avatars in a short time.

Innovations are part of Huawei’s investment in research and development. In 2022, the company invested USD 23.2 billion in the area, representing 25.1% of annual revenue.
