Angola and China vow to strengthen cooperation

 

Angolan President João Lourenço has vowed to strengthen cooperation with China, while the Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, pointed to new investments and joint projects in the productive sector.

In a message to Chinese President Xi Jinping offering congratulations for the 73rd anniversary of the People´s Republic of China, Lourenço (pictured above) said that the Asian country is “a global reference for stability, progress and development, but also another pillar on which the construction of peace and world security is fortified”.

“I would like to share with you this moment of celebration, to praise the uninterrupted progress made by the People’s Republic of China since the second half of the 20th century”, wrote Lourenço.

China was Angola’s main source of imports until june 2022

Lourenço expressed, on his own behalf and on behalf of his people, the desire to maintain the spirit of cooperation between Luanda and Beijing, “strengthening the traditional ties of friendship, based on international solidarity”, to “inspire a new dynamic of cooperation”.

In statemens to the Angolan National Radio (RNA), the Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, said that his country remains interested in consolidating strategic cooperation with Angola in the productive sector and in carrying out investments.

The granting of scholarships and other professional training offers is another point that will continue to mark Angola-China cooperation, the diplomat added.

Gong Tao underlined  that China wants to continue to maintain strategic cooperation with Angola in the productive sector.
